I have a very precious piece of black cotton with a border of gold embroidery that I bought in Laos many moons ago. Before I cut into it, I thought I’d better do a muslin, and so I dug out some mystery fabric from waaaaay back when I last used to sew (about 20 years ago). After a lot of fussing with the fit and making up my own instructions (who translates these Burdastyle instructions anyway?), I am quite pleased.
Ancient mystery blend from my stash that looks like linen but is definitely a blend.

beautiful, very clasic, chic, kind of chanel-looking, the whole outfit is really great!!!

Thanks francini; I think I now have the nerve to cut into my Laotian fabric without too many regrets ;) I think I need to find a nice skinny gold belt to wear with it….

Thanks patti-r; it’s a simple pattern, but the instructions are a bit slim (i.e. it isn’t obvious that your stitches will show on the front band until you get to that step, then you have to decide to stitch in the ditch or hand sew the band inside). I’ll be making it again for sure, but with a few modifications to the sequence of sewing.
