Finding a good fitting pair of pants has always been a major issue for me because of my height. I’m over six feet tall and not many stores carry 37" inseams. But back in December I noticed that JCPenney started selling Ultra Talls and so I bought a couple of their career trousers to try out. They fit pretty good! That gave me some hope and so I decided to pull out my Simplicity 2860 (that I had in my stash for about a year), and make my own!

I sewed these up much faster than I thought and I even went through making a muslin. I’ve never had good success with muslin fitting, mainly due to not knowing how to transfer my muslin changes to the actual pattern. But I took it slowly and figured it out as I went along. It’s not that hard as I originally thought!

After the fitting was done the construction of the pants went lightning fast and the finished piece is really something I’m proud of. I am liking pant making more and more!
