Description
I made this tee shirt dress based off a drawing by one of my students (I’m an elementary art teacher). I had so much fun bringing a drawing to life! I frankenpatterned two pieces to make the dress— I used a Burda 2-2011 long sleeve tee pattern and an a-line skirt pattern I drafted. The fabric is a super drape-y rayon knit, so I underlined the whole dress with a cotton interlock. I used a fusible tricot at the hem to help make the scallops.

Thanks so much!
I bought the boots on mega clearance this summer from j.jill. I’ve been patiently waiting for it to cool down enough to wear them. They are super comfy!

Adorable concept! Adorable dress! You look delicious! Reminds me of the Zebra striped bubblegum I had growing up! My Mom is an elementary school teacher as well – I’m going to forward your post to her, it will make her day.

Thanks! And the little ones don’t have that fear of “is this good enough?” yet, which I love.
