Just completed my first coat. It took quite a long time to work through one challenge after the other. I have never made a coat before and am relearning my limited skills from many years ago. I chose Melton wool before I had a project in mind so the coat was shorter than I would normally have made it. It was finished with antique buttons, needle felting and a beautiful and colourful lining.
I am happy with the outcome and have worn in numerous times since completing.
Black Melton wool, polyester lining, antique buttons, needle felting of my own design

Oh, Thank you but it was hard. I had to keep downloading How to…. on the internet. That included how to do needle felting. My close sewing friend was so impressed as her friends all go to classes to learn how to do sewing techniques. There is no doubt that I could do with a lesson or 2 but I really prefer working through problems by myself before asking for help.

You do? Thank you. I decided to do some embellishment because my theory was that I want to sew unique pieces. And I want to have clothes that fit my petite frame.

I don’t know if it is just me, put I can’t see the picture for your project. It’s a blank photo whilst everyone else’s project photos display fine. Anyone else?!
