Houston, Texas, ...
I needed a clutch for a wedding, and this was the result. I put it together in a way that’s similar to the construction of a suit jacket. The outside and inside are synthetic taffeta with a beaded trim. For the interfacing, I sandwiched together two pieces of cotton broadcloth with a heavier woven cotton (similar to denim) in between in order to add stability to the back and weight to the bottom of the front flap. Sadly, my sari turned out to not be colorfast, and I got turquoise blotches on the front, courtesy of the condensation on my water glass. Alas!
