Burda Style For people who sew

I’ve been rather preoccupied with tweeds and jackets lately. Even though I knew winter is over… These are my first warmer weather creations this year. The jacket is in black jeans. I originally made the pattern for recycled leather, so it’s got lots of small pieces. It has raglan sleeves, cut in four pieces and is unlined but finished with flat felled seams. The skirt is simply a piece fabric gathered onto a high shaped waist piece. The fabric is an African wax print, which I’ve had an eye on for a long time before buying it.
Material Notes
jeans, cotton in African wax print (this print design is called ‘hitrack’ or at least, that’s printed in the border)

I love the way the fabric for the waist is really smooth and looks almost like the bottom of a corset. :D

Gorgeous! Your designs are always exquisite. Would LOVE to see more bold colors on you – so much of what you make is so fantastic, but so dark! I bet you would look stunning in emerald green or teal. ;-)

the skirt is PHENOMENAL! African wax patterns are incredible for a visionary skirt of this kind. The high waist and pattern really send it to another level.
