My dad’s 70th birthday theme was traditional Filipino attire. This is why I have these exaggerated butterfly sleeves. Imelda wears it and that’s why I’m wearing it. I used a very simple pattern: McCall’s M6201. I like the fit and I just extended the pattern from knee length to floor length. The fabric is a satin blend and thank goodness it did not fray. The whole thing is lined.
I also made my sister’s red dress from the same pattern.
Rhonda of Rhonda’s Creative Life deserves credit for advice on how to make those sleeves.
2 yards satin, 22 inch zip, 2 yards lining.
