Description

I painted the background onto cotton fabric using acrylic paints. I then added details using free machine embroidery enhancing the texture and depth of the piece.

Material Notes

Cotton fabric, acrylic paints, polyester and rayon embroidery threads with free machine embroidery.

    Hi Lala86 – The size is approx 50cm square.

    Hi Gray – Just getting used to how to do all this – but hope to put some more pics on here soon. My next project is recycling an old sheet and bits of trim which I have dyed – hoping to make a flared gypsy skirt and possibly a top to match. I like to do all sorts, knitiing, crochet, weaving, dressmaking, silk painting and beading. Making some embroidered bags at the moment.

    I love this textile piece- it has a 3D quality and the colours are so vibrant it reminded me of a filed of poppies that I walked through in Yorkshire this summer.
