Very beautiful hats! I wish I could find a millinery program where I live. :)

Thank-you listentofate. Have you googled millinery classes? In Australia there are several businesses that travel to towns and cities where there are no classes and hold their own. I am sure there might be something like that in the US.

Love the purple one! It looks like ones in the photos I’ve seen of ladies on race day!

Thanks again. Apparently, racing day etiquette requires felt hats only in the winter and straw/ sinamay for summer. I am not sure how true this is but I will have to wait until winter to wear this hat

Your hats are just beautiful. Makes me wish I lived down under where your college is. I have been retired for several years and I am enjoying my later years dabbling in designing and sewing. My recent first attempts at making hats has been a learning experience that I am thoroughly enjoying. Your beautiful hats are an inspiration.

Thank-you Elenay. I am basically retired too and I decided to do millinery for something to do and it has been so much fun. I hope you get as much pleasure from hat making as I do.

Thanks sweet Liliv. I wish all my Burda Style friends could do this course too as I know you would all love it. My classes are on holiday at the moment and begin back in February. I will post my new hats then.

II would love to be on this course as well. Both hats are gorgeous. The first has a lovely vintage look to it while the second is pure hollywood from its hayday. Stunnung work schnui x

Thanks Mary. Unfortunately the blue doesn’t fit my big head and the other one is a bit too posh for me. But they are all part of my assessment and all the materials are part of the cost of your fees. It is a wonderful course and most people in the class travel from all over Queensland to go to it at huge expense. I live close to the college so I am very lucky.

I really love your hats, especially this blue one. Great job and as someone commented on one of the other hats, I cannot wait to see what you will be making at the end of the course. Well done and more grease to your elbow.

Thanks so much Alei. I am on holidays at the moment but start classes again in February and the hats will become more complicated I presume. I really love the course and I have a great teacher.

You would love this course Ellen. The course is at government funded training college. Millinery is in the fashion building so I see all the work the fashion students are doing and it is so inspirational.
