I found this great purple border print cotton at the wondrous Fabric Cave in Sydney awhile back, for the bargain price of $12 for the 4m piece. With this much fabric I decided a maxi dress would be the way to go!
I made this over two evenings, finally finishing at 11.30pm the night before wanting to wear it to Floriade in Canberra. As a result, I’ve already ripped the right strap out and need to fix that up! But that’s ok, because as usual for me the straps are too long and needed adjusting anyway.

Thanks! I had to add some extra darts to the bodice, because it wanted to gape open under my arms when made to the pattern. I’m much happier with it like this!
