Description

Just discovered the world of Otto Von Busch and the amazing movement of Fashion Hacktavism. Hackers create, as opposed to ‘crackers’ who destroy things (like computer systems). Likewise, fashion hacktavism concerns creating or re-creating fashion using fashion. A similar term for it is upcycling- that is using an existing garment to create another garment. But Fashion Hacktavism goes much deeper and is also concerned with the social implications of reuse and the reverse of designers telling the consumer what they want.

Two pieces here are his designs for Fashion Hacktavism- the (Marcs) jacket is now a waistcoat, with the sleeves as ties at the back. The pants-of similar good quality Australian made, have been pleated down the outside leg, narrowed, taken in at the waist and given elastic cuffs.

I like clothes. Especially, I like vest. Because it is look like clothing syle of Anatolian people.I think may be clothing style of Greek or İtalian people.Summary vest very like. Because vest includes a universal culture.Pants is look like şhalwar(şalvar) Our country , rural areas people is wearing.Have been modernized very nice shalwar(şalvar).Modernism emphasizes the many people beautiful boots. So working is very very good. Congratulations

I like the idea of hacktavism… and my comment doesn’t pretend to be original, but…“great work”! Plus, there’s a wonderful cool wool suit thrown away by my brother…mmmh

Cool as always! I like your version much better than the ones in the “cookbook”, but I loved the cookbook. He seems to live in Stockholm, I’ll have to keep my eyes open from now on… thanks for posting the links!

Oh, btw, I want the pants….

Thanks so much! The ‘cookbook’ is great to get the ideas flowing. He came to Melbourne a couple of years ago- so he is around.
