01/2012 Satin panties and bustier
I love this pattern! The fit is sort of like hot pants rather than knickers. I didn’t use a zipper, just super stretchy tricot and lingerie elastic. I’m going to work on the bustier tonight.
The colors do not show well in the picture. The material is pale blue and the lace is black with some silver.

Gorgeous! Makes me want to try too.
Re: the zipper thing — Burda magazine patterns are known for having unnecessary zippers on stretchy garments that can easily be pulled on. It’s kind of ridiculous in an underpants pattern!

Great job! I usually don’t like the garnny-pantie style, but these are actually quite sexy.

Haha! Thank you!
When i was cutting the fabric, my boyfriend asked me what i was working on. When i told him underwear, he asked me why they were SO BIG.

These are amazing! I want to make these, I’ve been thinking about this pattern since the pattern came out! I’m going to eliminate the zipper too, it’s so silly to have a zipper on underwear…Where did you get the fabric? I also live in Philadelphia, did you get it locally or online or something? Thank you!

Thank you!
I bought the stretch lace at Jomar in south philly. Do you ever go there? It’s hit or miss, but fun to look through all the bargain fabric.
The blue tricot fabric and the lingerie elastic, i bought online at sewsassy dot com.

I totally go to Jomar! I got a bunch of stretch lace at PA Fabric outlet on 4th Street, they have a lot of great elastic etc. I love Jomar, though, it’s the best. Such surly cutters, such a creepy world of amazing.

Creepy world of amazing is the perfect way to describe jomar. I haven’t been to fabric row in a while, i’ll have to check out PA fabric outlet.

Just lovely! I am so glad to hear that you can make them without the zipper. Can’t wait to see the bustier as well.

Sweet! Really sweet. Perhaps I’ll try one as well. Before I didn’t because of th zipper. I think underwear with a zippers is quite uncomfortable…. But I don’t know, where to get that kind of cute fabric here in Germany…. :-(

Thank you!
I agree, a zipper would be very uncomfortable. I think that if the fabric has a lot of stretch, you don’t need the zipper.
