A dress that needed to be made in a day, from what I had in my stash. Daughter no 1 had a dinner date, and nothing suitable to wear, so I offered to help out! I had some black silk linen and some grey satin that worked perfectly together. The belt is a combination of 2 widths of grossgrain ribbon and some metallic lace. For more info see the blog

Wow! Well done you, looks great! It’s so handy if you’ve got a built up stash of fabrics and trimmings, I’ve got some I’ve had for years just ‘waiting for the right project’.

Definitely handy! Although I try to tell myself no more buying until I have used some up, I never really seem to stick to that rule… just as well hu? ;) And I am a complete sucker for ribbons and lace…

ha ha, that was one of my half hearted new year’s resolutions which I broke already by buying a couple of metres of a beautiful fabric today. I swore (though maybe with my fingers crossed) that I’d use up the stash of fabric I’d built up for specific projects before buying any more.
