Yet another dress made using the excellent contour bust pattern. I came across a dress online that had similar contrasting straps reaching the waist, and couldn’t resist making my own! I considered making them removable with buttons at the waist but decided against it as I could picture the straps constantly falling down and driving me nuts!
Also after a finished it I decided that the straps kind of look like suspenders, which I quite like the look of. I’m excited to wear this as the weather gets warmer over here in Australia.

I love the dress and straps. Perhaps you could get some buckle/fasteners to make the suspender look complete. Even if they are permanent like you have made them. I reckon it would make the end more interesting.

What a beautiful dress! I have a feeling I may need to have a go at using this pattern, there’s so many great versions around… and I love your ‘suspenders’ too, that’s such a great idea! Is your skirt a half-circle skirt?
