A friend asked me to make her a dress to wear to her nephews wedding. She only likes to wear natural fibres, so she asked me to get her some silk jersey from Mood NYC on my recent trip in March this year. The fabric was so lovely to work with, it does make a difference when you sew with beautiful fabrics. I used a pattern that I had originally purchased for myself, as I don’t wear dresses as I am very short only 5 feet tall. The pattern was simplicity 2369, making the shorter dress with the elbow length sleeves. I have since made this for myself and it is very comfortable to wear and I did not feel swamped by the dress. My friend was very pleased with her finished dress, with fabric all the way from the USA
She forgot to take some picture of her in the dress, so l only have those l took on the mannequin.
Plan a weekend getaway in these sweater dresses and furry accessories.
