Description
After seeing alisondahl’s tutorial, I have been wanting to try this out for ages. Finally over the long weekend I managed to make it so!
A few things I did differently – I ironed under the bottom hems and topstiched them, then glued from the bottom of the shoe up, the opposite of the tutorial. Then I made a sort of facing out of s strip of suede to cover up the inside edges.
Material Notes
Make sure to use a good-quality craft glue that will not stain your fabric. I used 'Premium Bond Craft Glue' by CraftSmart which I bought at Spotlight.

how did you do the straps i need to make a velvet pair for my friends prom.

When I made the pattern, I included the t-bar section. I unpicked the loop in the t-bar so it was flat & wrapped the fabric around it. Then re-stitched the t-bar loop. For the cross-strap I just cut a bias strip wide enough to wrap around the strap and tucked the ends under so no raw edges showed. Putting holes in the strap for the buckle was a pain though, I used a thick darning needle. Hope that helps!
