After seeing alisondahl’s tutorial, I have been wanting to try this out for ages. Finally over the long weekend I managed to make it so!
A few things I did differently – I ironed under the bottom hems and topstiched them, then glued from the bottom of the shoe up, the opposite of the tutorial. Then I made a sort of facing out of s strip of suede to cover up the inside edges.
Make sure to use a good-quality craft glue that will not stain your fabric. I used ‘Premium Bond Craft Glue’ by CraftSmart which I bought at Spotlight.
