Well done on first go at sewing jersey. I’m sure you wondered afterwards why you’d waited as the benefits of sewing with jersey are great. 06/2010 #109 is a great starter for the earlier query

You’re right, I did wonder – it’s exciting to have more options available now than basic cotton! Thanks for the tip for the pattern too off for a search

Hi would you recommend that pattern for a first time sewing with knits ? I was thinking of getting it , and I have never used jersey knit .Great work and I am loving that fabric choice :-)

Hi there, I think it’s a fairly straightforward pattern, but I did struggle with some rippling to the hem (see the blog post link).
You might want to note that it doesn’t have that crazy four inches of ease built in, so might want to make a size larger than you sometimes do.

It was my first time with jersey and it was quick to make, with minimal swearing – always a good sign!

Wonderful dress. I love stripes but am afraid to work with such material, they never point the right direction but you did a fab job. And I see you use minerva, I love their stuff, so cheap yet good quality :-)

It’s the first time I ordered with Minerva, I was fairly happy with it, though there is very little stretch…
Thank you for your lovely comment x
