Description

Stretch cotton shift style dress with little tucks around the neckline. The fabric is lovely to work with and to wear as it doesn’t seem to crease too easily and ‘gives’ when you sit down. It has a lovely kick pleat although the picture doesn’t seem to show it. It doesn’t have any lining other than its facing and the sleeves are finished with satin bias binding.
The evening party is tomorrow and have teamed it with some lovely red shoes and handbag. The forecast is for hot weather so may just take a red shawl for the journey back to the hotel.

    I’m trying to get my hands on this pattern since I saw in in the magazine…. but I live in New Zealand and they wouldn’t post it this far… any ideas?

    Looks lovely! I think that this is the Prima pattern from May 2011? I have this in my stash waiting to be sown wiht a similar fabric (cotton with spandex) – you’ve inspired me to get this finished as soon as I finish a little 60’s number I’m on with for daughter no.2 lol :)

      Yes it is the May 2011 Prima Pattern. I have a yearly subscription and the patterns are now mounting up with all the things I want to make. Oh well, onwards and upwards. Soon I will have a new wardrobe of clothes.

      I got this fabric from Maureens fabric in Ormskirk Lancashire
      She always has a lovely selection but she hasn’t got a website but I may suggest it to her so pople on burdastyle can look at her selection. Its the same type of material I used for my cornflower dress from the same shop. And thanks for the lovely comment. I am so pleased I found it and fell in love straight away knowing what I was going to make with it.
