This is my version of BERNINA 3 Series.
My inspiration was from 1940s to 1950s.
My favorite designer, Claire McCardell’s gave me so much hints to design the dress and the turban.
I first wanted to cover the shoulder, but to make it more “party look”, I changed it and exposed shoulders. Most of the Claire McCardell’s dress fascinated me were active & simple cotton day dresses. So I kept it simple and added turban to give it a spice of working girl:)
The fabric is very beautiful shiny polyester I bought in Thailand and used cupra rayon for lining.
polyester, cupra rayon

I’m taken to Havana, 1950! You really captured the period, while at the same time, it looks very “of the moment” today.

I love that you channeled Claire McCardell, one of the front runners of women’s ready to wear that was actually a woman! I especially love the turban! You should check out photos of Elsa Schiaparelli. She could rock a turban like no other. Fab look and great job!

The fabric is reat and the silhouette is perfect for inspiration, I had no doubts when I saw it. I just love how you patterned the sleeve into the bodice.
