Wanted a cape instead of a bath robe type thing for cold mornings. I love Gothic/Victorian things so this sounded like a great idea! I used one piece of fabric for the cape part, then had to use to separate pieces for the hood.
If I were to make another one, I would make it wider so it could wrap around me.
Was fairly easy to make, only annoying parts were having to lie it on the carpet to cut it, and then making sure the hem was the same.
Note: The red colour was not intentional, I originally wanted a black velvet, but the only decent stuff was expensive, so i bought this red velvet instead. Also can be doubled up at a red riding hood costume.
Red velvet stuff.
Red thread.
