I made this dress using the pattern for Simplicity 2473 as the basis. It’s inspired by the L’Wren Scott Headmistress Dress (but cost me $2850 less!). I drafted a sleeve, collar, and cuff and added them to the Simplicity bodice and skirt. The dress is made of black double knit (poly/rayon/lycra, I think), and the contrast collar and cuffs are are made of white ponte di roma. I’m also attaching the picture of the original on Nicole Kidman, but you probably can’t tell us apart since I look JUST LIKE HER.
UPDATE: Check out my blog for more info and a FREE pattern kit download so you can make your own! (Just the pieces I drafted in my size; you’ll still need the pattern for Simplicity 2473.)

The outfit is very sophisticated. And it was indeed a wonderful idea to add your details onto an exsisting pattern, making your dress truly unique.

Gorgeous, despite the icky feeling polyester. Ah, if only the world didn’t run out of the right type of fabric when you need it! And as a side note, your blog makes me smile every day. =]

Sehr Klasse!

I have just used Google Translate to translate this from German to English (I selected the “Detect Language” option :) )…. it reads as follows:-
“Great class! Although, of course, have to say that this dress Nicole is only half as good! :)
If I may dare: Perhaps in the length or let out quite a bit? The ‘Little black dress’, I found a bit too long, and here it is just the opposite”

Thank you Seemane! I will try to find this ‘Detect Language’ option because my comment now seems to be written in good english? ;) (Oh, oh… now everyone notices that I critized THE Elainemay.) ;)
