This is a picture of my very first dress, made after the pattern “simplicity 4055”.
I thought of sharing this project because it can be made by novice (I learned to sew by myself with it ! It wasn’t really easy, but can be made).

Wow first project and no help! That is amazing awesome job. I like that you added the trim, that is brave for a first project. Looks like you are well on your way to becoming an expert. Great job and keep sewing!

      Thank you very much !
I have to recognize I did unstitch some small parts 2 or 3 times and sewed again, luckily I had some free days ! I think sewing demands patience and perseverance, but I found it quite soothing… :)

I am glad you found it soothing even when you had to remove stiches! Even people who have been sewing for 20 years still have to remove stiched sometimes, it happens. I would recommend getting a good set of straight pins (nice long ones with big heads). I do a lot of pinning before I stich my seams, helps to minimize mistakes. Also let the basting stich be your friend! Basting stiches are very easy to remove if you make a mistake.
Can’t wait to see your next project!

Thank you for your good advices !
It helps a lot, as I have no one around me that knows how to sew, I’m on my own :)
I am on a different project now, a dress from the fifties, but I take my time because it’s not easy ! In France we have a proverb : “lentement mais sûrement”, it means that if we do something slowly, it will get to an end for sure, but more carefully !
