Burda Style For people who sew
Description
First of all, I have to admit that I did not actually sew my dress, because between all the grad committee stuff and yearbook there wouldn’t have been any time. I hired a lovely lady in my town/city to make it for me, but I was very diligent in getting the right fabric, the right patterns etc, and to top it all off i got her to make my date a tie :). I’m very happy with how it turned out and I got no end of compliments on the day of prom!!
Overall it took a month too sew, with 3 fittings in which we managed to get it pieced together. The top has been sewn to have the effect, the only problems with the dress, are in the backing, as the corset part didn’t work as well as i had hoped.
Material Notes
4 meters of Sation
2 meters of tulle
3-4 meters of lining
2 bobbins of thread
total cost of project $320 (including paying for seamstress) ;)

Thank you :) It will have to get fixed in my spare time as, it got a couple rips in it from dancing all night :) And I really want to wear it again :)
