This lovely lady is part of my series of hand embroidery / appliqus based on the images on the front of the envelopes that contain vintage dress making patterns. I love those ladies! When I was growing up, waiting for my Mum to buy whatever she needed from the habidasherers, I used to love going through the books and drawers of patterns looking at all of their outfits – I thought they were so sophisticated.
