I made the Tara top out of two old pillowcases that my mom had tossed into the rag bin. I was like, “Wait, I can use those!” I only had 1/2" elastic, instead of 1/4" so I couldn’t fit it into the casing. So I put on my thinking cap and TADA! Contrasting bias tape! To balance out the black and add prettiness I embroidered the hem and the sleeves. I am in anticipation for warm weather so I can wear my cute summer top!

Really cute, and I just love the story behind it. Hope you got to wear it a lot this summer (said by someone who lives where summer is totally unpredictable…)!

LOVE it. So cute, and gotta love it when someone asks “oh my goh, what a cute top, where’d you get it?!?!” and you respond.. “oh, the rag bin…. laaadeedaa…”
Now I need to get sewing before summer is over!!

This is so pretty! You look great in it! I like the contrast of the bias tape, and the embroidery is adorable! And it’s a pretty darn gorgeous recycling job! (I steal out of my mom’s “get rid of” stash, too! tee-hee…… if she only knew!……….)
