I’ve been seeing tee shirts like this all over the place (JCrew, Anthropologie) and never want to pay more than $10 for a tee shirt, no matter how adorable. JCrew is selling theirs for $42.50 (jerks). I created this using scraps and a simple t-shirt (bought in Target’s sleepware section). When the t-shirt gets ruined (as it inevitably will – I spill stuff and sweat occasionally) I can cut the t-shirt and sew the whole thing onto a new one.
Scraps from: cotton curtains, bridesmaid dress lace, felt wool circles, buttons, and vintage costume jewelry (Grandma's).

I’ve totally been eyeing this shirt from anthro… I like the way you did it! Nice that you won’t run into anybody wearing the same one of a kind looking shirt! yours is one of a kind! I’m inspired! I’m gonna have to do some alterations to a few shirts! : ) very cool!

Ah, this is so sweet and it looks great under the black sweater too! Don’t you feel so clever that you spent a fraction of the price and have something even better than Jcrew? Obviously there is something quite priceless about making your own unique clothing!

I love this! I agree, I just can’t bring myself to spend that much on a t-shirt. Great job breaking it down and making one for yourself. I hope I can make something like this eventually!
