There was an Ella and an Ellie born last year and I fear I call the babies the wrong names all the time! This is the set of clothes I made for baby Ellie. I think all little girls need a ruffle bum diaper cover.
I bought a Kenmore serger early last year and it’s been an amazing addition to my sewing machine. I used it to do the rolled hem on the ruffles.
The pattern for the dress came from Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing for Baby: 24 Easy Projects for Newborns to Toddlers. For some reason, this is the only Lotta Jansdotter book my library has so of course I borrowed it – and surprisingly all contents, including patterns, were intact. It’s a great book.
Stretch black denim from the thrift store (I think $3 for 3 metres). Red and white check cotton from curtains, also from the thrift store ($2 for the curtain). Lots of both fabrics left for other projects.
