I wound up with two metres of gorgeous indigo non-stretch denim. What else to do, but make bellbottoms?
I decided to use the Ellen pattern for a base, as it’s a simple, non-stretch, close-fitting pants pattern. I traced it off, cut off yoke and pocket sections (adding seam allowances as necessary), made pieces for the pocket linings, and went to town. This is also my first attempt at flat-felling seams—-usually in jeans I just press the seams to one side and topstitch.
Just for fun, I made a corset-lacing front opening rather than a regular fly.
