i made this cape for my partner to wear as part of his Gala Nocturna outfit, an Elizabethan themed ball.
I didn’t use a pattern, instead drafted it up based on images I’d seen online and in films. It was basically a full circle with a collar with cord stitched in the collar seam to tie across the shoulders.
It was surprisingly very fiddly to make, due to the vast bulk of material and slippery fabric used.
velvet, satin, gold braid, gold applique, gold ricrac trim.
