Description

This is a gift to one of my friends. She wanted a black Victorian style blouse. It was difficult to make(well…I’m a beginner after all). I had trouble with lots of parts and it took me a week to do the whole thing because I’m a crazy perfectionist. I made the pattern for every piece except for the thing that hangs from the neck. That piece is just a right triangle.

Material Notes

I used buttons that can be covered in the same fabric as the blouse(also hard to work with). I used my sewing machine and my overlock machine for different parts. The fabric is some sort of blend too. I think it’s like polyester with something else. I also used this black elastic lace for the sleeves. I didn’t particularly like the elastic piece? but I was following orders from the future owner of the blouse.

    So nice! Fantastic job. the bit on the front adds that extra bit of interest that tips it over the edge from being a plain blouse to something really special. your friend is lucky!

    yay! somebody likes it! I have to get more pictures because it’s a little hard to see the details. The shoulder has this little thing coming out horizontally that gives it a bit of a modern edge :)
