Exactly one year has passed since I began sewing again after many years of hiatus. Decided to celebrate the event sewing a coat. I have chosen a very simple model without too many details, in order to learn to sew a lined garment, and most importantly – to overcome the barrier, inner fear of a more complex model. Fabric – wool, lining – viscose. The coats is so light and comfortable.

I have a similar pattern lined up! – I’ve just got to get the fabric. Coats and jackets scare me a little too. I have made a few, but all those fine details really set you off down the wrong path. A simple coat like this is a great starter. Terrific job!

alekat, thank you! My first jacket was a disaster, but this time I decided to make it right. I read a lot about sewing a coat, fusible interfacing, ecc, I took my time, and the result is quite satisfying.

Oh good idea. I have a few sewing books but I never remember to pull them out when I’m having problems!
