Final project for level 1 draping course. Straight-cut 1920s shift dress with inset doubled handkerchief skirt in white charmeuse and chain-embellished collar. Fully lined.
The skirt inset seam was difficult to ease in and sew due to one-piece cutting – professor’s notes were to add style lines in the skirt and draft straight seams to make it easier.
Polyester charmeuse, polyester chiffon, nylon netting (partial collar underlining), aluminum chain, painted metal paillettes, jump rings
Take a trip down the aisle in these gorgeous gowns, or change the fabrics for a spring party dress.
