I tend to gravitate toward loud, bright florals…so I forced myself to work with plain ole’ fabric for this project. I wanted a versatile dress that I could dress up or dress down, depending on the occasion. The simple purple can easily be transformed, according to the belt & shoes.
100% cotton fabric

As per other comments, I love the gathers at the neckline. A very gorgeous dress, well done.

Thank you! Yes, I used McCall’s 5535. It calls for jersey knit, but I just used regular cotton.

This is really beautiful! I like the gathering at the shoulders as well. Did you use a pattern for this dress?

Another lovely dress! I like the neckline and the pleats near the shoulders, simple but beautiful.
