I found this soft rayon spandex knit fabric and couldn’t find the right pattern for it. I decided to use this BWOF pattern and go from there. It kind of turned out like I planned but the fabric is too clingy. I will also never try to put a button hole in that type of fabric ever again

I love the color buttons. I’ve been thinking of making a similar shirt, but wary of the button holes, well your did a great job!

I really like this color and the top looks really good on you! I know what you mean about the slinky quality of rayon jersey but I think the drapey quality is lovely for this shirt. If it’s still bothering you, you might trying interfacing the collar (with an interfacing for knits), which might take some of the drapey-ness out of the neckline and add some body, as well as stabilize the buttonhole. Good work!

It shows my belly a little more than I’d like. I say that as I pop another chocolate covered macadamia nut in my mouth. Something about it bothers me. The clingyness? The neckline?

This colour is fabulous! I cheat when putting buttons on stretch and just sew them on without the buttonhole – the effect is the same but without the blood, sweat and tears!!!
