San Jose, Califo...
i usually dont update the accessories i make to this site, but the stuff is just so cute and ive got photos of it anyway :) the hat takes only 3-5 hrs to make. I wish i know the technical terms of it, but i sort of just made it up without a pattern and all. this is the first hat i ever knitted! id say it turnedout pretty awesome!
here is my attempt to describe it as a pattern:
i used thick wool and a size 13 needle (the one thats connected)
put 48 loops onto the needle to make that round circle. do that purr for about 4-5 rows
then start alternating the stitches every 3 stich — so 3 purr then 3 knit, then 3 pur.. and so on
after 4 rows of above, switch the pur and knit order and do 4 more rows
do it until you get 4 rows of squares
then start decreasing, every 6 stich should be grouped. so for first row, you purr two together into one single stitch, followed by 5 normal purr; for second row, you purr the two together (including the one stitch that you used to combine the two in previous row) followed by 4 normal stiches… that way until you run out of stitches! when there is only 2 stitches left, just close the thing up!
hope that was followable :P its a really nice christmas present!
