Here is a dress I made for my Mum this Easter. She asked me to replicate a dress at Christmas time, but I only just got round to it. I’ve never made anything out of this stretchy velvet fabric before, it worked really nicely, although I got frustrated with the seams as they didn’t iron flat so it was hard to hem etc. Nice to sew something with no darts though – put it all together in an hour or 2.
This fabric is just 1 way stretch and I cut the sleeves on the wrong way, so they’re loose rather than snug.
Think my Mum likes it – it’s a bit wintery, but we’re having some lovely April showers at the moment so it’s not bad timing.
