Made using a vintage pattern and some fairly vintage fabric my grandmother gave me. It turned out a little small at first but I let out the darts and seams and it was OK. The sleeves are kimono sleeves – ie the bodice and sleeves are cut in one peice. I think I’m gonna make it again with a full pleated skirt and shorter sleeves in some blue Ikea fabric – its a very adaptable pattern.
Print cotton.
My grandmother for giving me the fabric
My brother for taking the pictures.

I just fell in love with this dress! Could you share the pattern number so I can attempt to track it down? It looks like a great versatile pattern with the varied skirts and necklines! So many options…

Very nice! You look great in it, quite chic. I’m not surprised the pattern came up small though, as it’s early 60’s, it’s still from the era of the tiny waists. Good that you could make it work.

Got to love those vintage patterns! This dress is just so beautiful and the fabric is perfect! I would love to see a picture of the vintage pattern if you have the time and desire to post it. Again, this is really a beautiful dress!
