This is a jacket I made using Burda 8592 without alteration except for size adjustments. I used a heavy textured woven wool. The colour is a dusky rose. It is fully lined with shoulder pads and hand stitched hems. I usually fasten it either on the inside, so it is invisible, or on the outside with a large pin. The jacket front is asymmetrical and can be worn with the front crossed over of the lapel folded back like a blazer.
This is the pattern which I adapted for my ‘Comfy Writing Jacket’ – a project uploaded on burdastyle. In this case I used cotton sweat shirting. So although the pattern recommends tweed and lightweight wool, it also works successfully for heavy wool and heavy cotton knits.
I cannot add credit for some reason – this project is made using Burda pattern 8592
