…Sounds better than confiture de lait or toffee sauce, having said that, if the skirt were shorter and the top lower , then maybe, Toffee Sauce…?
This is a home drafted dress that wasn’t exactly drafted! I stuck strips of wrapping paper onto my body form, took a sharpie and drew bodice shape onto the paper, cut it off and drew around the pieces. It shouldn’t have worked….but it did! Wadya know?!
The over skirt is a funny stockinette type material and the top and underskirt are stiffish cotton, the bodice is lined with an old pillowcase. The skirts are just gathered rectangles, the top one being longer and more voluminous than the bottom. I will stick to properly made patterns in the end but I quite enjoyed the whole experiment.
Cotton and some elastic-y netting lacy stuff

Thank you….it only really snowed long enough to get the pictures taken! It’s worse in the UK.

Pretty dress! Though I don’t think you’ll be able to wear it anytime soon in that weather! ;)
