This is my couture dress of the summer. I fell in love with Burda 7494 and some ducky blue chino and decided to combine the two! I changed the skirt to an A-line, which I drafted from a straight skirt block I made. Details include a cotton voile underlining, catch stitched seams, fell-stitched cotton lining and a hand picked zipper! I fell in love with couture instantly upon watching Susan Khalje’s Couture Dress course on Craftsy, and have been a convert ever since. So, thank you Susan <3
I just love applying couture techniques to my garments and the result fits and wears like a dream. I hope you enjoy. Details of the construction can be found on my blog http://coutureacademic.wordpress.com

It’s beautiful! All the hard work and hand stitching was definitely worth it.
