Description

Casual tunic for my daughter; it was actually the tester of this pattern. She loves the ease of wearing it, and if she spills, it doesn’t show. :-) The front was wide, so I added an extra tuck into the centre of the neckline, and shortened the neck facing accordingly. The waist was also long on her, so we shortened it by placing a tuck in the waist. The hem has an interfaced facing, which makes it hang on her nicely, as she wanted it to wear with tights.

Very nice tunic! Your daughter is shining, so I guess she’s very happy with it ;-)) It looks very nice with the details in the neck – and you did a great job :)

Thanks, she does really like it. She picks the pattern and fabric; I do the enjoyable work. Her tastes are different than mine, but then again, she is half my age. :-)

You are lucky to have a daughter to share the passion for fashion and clothes and she is very lovely!

I guess the changes you’ve made in the pattern make the tunic is absolutely yours own:-) I’m not a fan of black colour but its using for this pattern with all the accessoires and styling is great and the outfit suits your daughter very well!

She does really like it. Strange you see as black; it is actually a brown tweed with blue flecks through it. However, she does like black, whereas I prefer colours.

I’m sorry, Rita, but I really see it as black like antracit coal ( let’s say, light black) on my computer. Now, when I know its real colour, I like it even more: I like dark fabrics with flecks.

This looks great on yout daughter rits. I’m sure she is delighted to have such a talented mum to make her fabulous clothes. Good tip on the tucks at the neckline, my mums very narrow and i noticed a couple of tops i made her are gaping now ( shes lost weight,) x

Thanks Mary. :-) She is reading a book called “Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion” and casually announced over a game of cards tonight, that I was going to make all her clothes. hmmmm,,,… And it was me that borrowed the book from the library!!!! That is awesome your mum has you to alter her clothing!

Oh that is funny, as my daughter does the same thing!!!! I am still off work, so I think my daughter has realized this is the time to ‘request’ a lot of items. :-). You are lucky you can sew as much as you do and work full time.
