Dresses I have made for myself – weddings, parties, anything!
Patterns were butterick for the wrap dress number B5320 and other dresses are New Look 6774. The new look pattern is so easy and so many dresses can be made from the one pattern. Is a great fit for curvy ladies too!

The cream dress collar was tricky but the rest of the dress was pretty easy to make. The other two dresses are a piece of cake to make, I love this pattern as so many styles can be made from it!

Sorry for my very late reply! I used the pattern and found it pretty easy except for the following areas: The collar was a nightmare to match the pieces up when pinning all the ruffles in; so much so I had to scrap one and start the collar again. The pattern also mentions lining, which I skipped and in place, inserted my own facing made from the dress fabric to line both the interior front panels. However, because I skipped the lining, I found it difficult to create the hole for the waist tie to poke through the side seam of the dress (hard to finish the hole seams, would need to overlock these pieces separately or use bias tape on the side seam where the tie goes through). Great dress though and received lots of compliments! I used cotton sateen too, hard to iron but a great finish on the dress.

The wrap dress is my favorite, so feminine! Did you use the pattern?

Just lovely! I think I have the pattern for the first dress… I haven’t attempted it yet – it looks tricky! How did you find it? Your fabric choice is the perfect weight :)
