This dress had me swearing and doubting my mental health in equal measures.
I couldn’t remember how to do plackets or collars. My brain just didn’t want to work at all.
I messed up on the placket placement which then meant the collar was too short and no extra fabric to recut another. Hey ho, so lets just have a stand I thought. When it came to hemming, the back was 20cms longer than the front, what? anyway that meant I could have a collar after all. The under is plain black cotton and I wanted the flowers to the top.3 attempts before I got in in the right way up.
The original sleeves are just 2 strips but I widened, curved and doubled them up which I think fits better with the fabric pattern.
BTW the hem is slightly uneven but I really don’t care,
Mystery slippery stuff from ebay and round shank buttons from Bonds of Farsley
