i started out with a dated strapless dress that i haven’t worn in 3-4 years, but haven’t been able to get rid of because of it’s good quality.
i started this project today (9/30) at around 5:00pm and completed it in about 2 hours total.
it’s made of a blue and white stripe fabric with a cream lining. I changed the neckline by putting in a slit and making a facing to finish the edges. This dress went well below my knees and wasn’t flattering on me at all. maybe if i was a foot taller. so I also shortened it about 8 inches. I first cut a lot of the length off, then sewed a couple inches back onto the bottom. I used my rowenta iron ( have had it for 6.5 years ) to press the hem down.
now it is definitely something i would wear instead of just hanging in my closet unworn. i can wear this in the fall and winter with tights and a cardigan/jacket. this dress also had a belt that i turned into a headband. :)
thanks for your consideration!
