I got this idea and pattern from “The DIY Dish”(Season 4) the other day. It is a fun and quick project. It took longer to find the candle sticks than it did to make the dress form. The curves are a little tricky but if you make sure you cut the pattern on the grainline you can stretch it to make it work. I gave this one to the woman who does all my quilting. She loved it!
1 fat quarter, candle stick, button, rag fabric flower, pins and a pen top for the finniel(sp), fiberfil.

I can see why she loved it. Any seamstress would be happy to have one of these in her work room!

Hi ! Can you believe this is one of the projects I am presently working on ? Mine uses two pattern pieces with darts. How many pattern pieces did you use in making your project? Do you have a rear shot of your dressform pin cushion? I like the lace, the flower and, the button! AWESOME ! Thanks for sharing!

I have 3 pattern pieces for the body, no darts and a pattern piece to cut the foam board to place in the bottom to have something to glue the candlestick to. I haven’t taken a rear shot of it but will and will post it so you can see it. Mine went together very quickly and looks just as good I think as the ones they have for sale at JoAnn’s. Go to “the diydish.com” and you can download the free pattern there. And they have their other pin cushions from previous seasons available for free downloads also. Can’t wait to see your finished dressform. Happy Sewing!!!

Where did you get your pattern from? I would love to try one with darts to see if it “forms” better.
