So, I wish I could say that I had made this dress myself, but I would be lying. However, my mother (and the reason I love to sew so much) made this dress for me for my Senior Ball in high school. I found a picture of a dress that Heidi Klum had worn to some awards show and fell in love. My amazing mother whipped up several different designs, and we played around with the drapery in the back until it was just perfect. Since she doesn’t have a Burda Style account I figured I would share her beautiful handiwork for her. She didn’t use any patterns, and it’s constructed from 100% Silk. She even made a matching tie for my date/bf so that we could match perfectly. Gotta love moms…
