This empire line dress has saved my life so many times! The dress is a basic ally a shift with a deep V neck. I have made this dress for many different uses. This version is my favourite. I purchased some embroidered silk organza which was easier to work with than I expected. I re-drew the pattern pieces so I could cut out the organza as a single layer, placing the uneven hem edge in a manner pleasing to the eye. The deep V was to revealing for Church, so I strategically placed left over organza flowers along the neckline. I used french seams in the construction of the dress.
Organza with a silk/polyester mix lining.
