Burda Pattern 7659
This is the first dress I ever made based on a pattern. It seems like it took me forever to decipher all of the pattern markings and instructions. I am happy I finally took this step, I love my dress and I’ve gotten many compliments on it already. I’m 5’9" and like the knee length. I bought the fabric a while back and had just enough to finish cutting out the pattern. I found it a bit short, hence the blue trim. I love this cut, looks great with a belt and I can’t wait to use it again on another fabric.

Material Notes

The blue trim is part of a large stripe patterned fabric I got on sale. As soon as I brought it home I realized it’s more suited to make curtains maybe, not a dress, so I had it kicking around my studio for a while not knowing what to do with it…. it turned out a perfect match for my dress trim and gives off a denim effect which I really like. Worked out after all I guess :)
