I found a cheap curtain remnant in my local fabric shop for £1.50 and loved the pattern so I snatched it up and decided to make a cute pleated skirt. The heavy fabric sits really well as pleats and gives it a really playful feel.
I used McCalls M5591, view A, which has fab slash pockets, and was really easy to sew up, with no adjustments needed (although I did cut 2 sizes smaller than recommended for my measurements!).
I handpicked the zip, which was my first attempt at this, and I’m so pleased with the results – it’s definitely my new zip insertion technique!

I’ve made this pattern before, but never would have thought to use a horizontal print. It looks great! Super cute.
