Description

Very simple top to make; this top, which my daughter decided she was going to wear 15 minutes before she was going out tonight, and nicely asked me if she could ‘borrow’ it ( I still had the hems to do), is made in a size 50. I didn’t have time to set up the twin needles, so instead I used the stretch zigzag stitch for the hemming. After cutting the neck band, I instead decided to use a strip of 1 cm light weight single fold bias binding for the back neck edge, which was very simple to work with, and holds the neck shape nicely. The armpit area hangs low; if you don’t like this, it is easy enough to alter, as I will do for my next top. As this top is cut on two folds, I suggest you review the pattern layout; if you have fabric with a nap, you will need 1.70m. The May 2012 issue has a similar top for regular sizes.
